Eco-Art project: Something in the Water

Crochet with plastic bags?! Learn how and participate in an eco-art project using plastic bags to crochet breast shapes that will be joined together and exhibited in an art exhibition about water in May 2011 at the American Jewish Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.

Plastics are significant culprits contributing to the toxins in our water that we pass on to infants through mothers’ milk. Highlighting this dark side of our dependency on plastic bags, concerned people are crocheting breast shapes from plastic bags. Everyone who contributes will be acknowledged as collaborators with Wendy Osher, lead artist on the project. All crocheted breast shaped must be received by April 1, 2011.

Residency at Schloss Pluschow, Germany

Spent September 2010 at Schloss Pluschow in former East Germany near the Baltic Sea. Incredible experience culturally as well as artistically. Look for new work started and some completed there. "Where the Bee Stings" , a piece made of fruit and vegetable bags, found tatting, and embroidery is soon to be added to the website.
